FLAG SUBSCRIPTION

GRAND OAKS HIGH SCHOOL ZONE

Troop 293 and Troop 1293 will place an American flag at your home or business in the Grand Oaks High School feeder zone for 7 holidays a year.  The proceeds from this community service fundraiser helps support BSA TROOP 293/1293.  The program has been in place since 2012 and thanks to the community’s support it continues to grow each year.  We look forward to continuing your service.

Flags will fly on the following holidays:

LABOR DAY  – September 4, 2023
PATRIOTS’ DAY  – September 11, 2023
VETERANS DAY  – November 11, 2023
PRESIDENTS’ DAY  – February 19, 2024
MEMORIAL DAY  – May 27, 2024
FLAG DAY  – June 14, 2024
INDEPENDENCE DAY  – July 4, 2024

**Each subscription year starts with the Labor Day holiday.  New subscriptions will receive their first flag Saturday, Sept 2 2023 for the Labor Day Holiday.

FAQ

Several weeks after your subscription, the Flags with Pride team will place a small white tag on your curb and an approximately 12 inch piece of PVC in your yard near the curb. Beginning Labor Day of your subscription year, Scouts and parents will place a 10 foot flag pole in your yard using the PVC previously place by the FWP team. Flags typically are placed the Saturday BEFORE each holiday and will be collected the evening of each holiday, or the day after each holiday. IF YOU HAVE NOT RECIEVED YOUR FLAG by 5pm Saturday before the holiday, please report the issue below.
The cost for 1 flag placed at your house on all 6 holidays is $45.00. You can order multiple flags if you wish.
No, but you are more than welcome to place a light on the flag. Solar lights work well for this. You may also take the flag inside at night if you wish, but please make sure it is back in the sleeve the next morning before the flags are retrieved.
If you are moving within our flag boundaries, please fill out the form below and we will transfer your service. If you are moving outside of our distribution area, fill out the form below and we will see if another organization services your new address.

Safety is our first concern. If inclement weather is forecasted, the flags will not be placed. We will try to come up with a make-up date if possible. This has only occurred a couple of times due to hurricanes. We hope we never have to skip any holidays!
You will receive a renewal email during the month of May. If you wish to continue your flag subscription for the new year, you will just need to click on the link within the email and it will take you to an order screen. You will then be able to review your address and personal information. You will be asked to enter your credit card information each year for payment. For your protection, we do not store your credit card information.
Labor Day 2019 marks the first time the Troops started this service. The original service was started in 2012 by the Oak Ridge High School Band.
The Oak Ridge High School Band is now servicing only addresses that are zoned to Oak Ridge High School. If you live in the Oak Ridge High School attendance zone, please go back to the homepage and click on OAK RIDGE HIGH SCHOOL.
