TROOP 1656 – RICHMOND, TX

“Stars n Stripes Over Richmond” is a fundraising project that directly impacts the Scouts in Troop 1656.  Your generous donation off-sets the cost of Summer and High Adventure Camp, as well as providing a unique opportunity to serve the community in a meaningful way.  The program is volunteer led and Scouts are responsible for managing your routes.

Our subscription period is May-February and includes the delivery and retrieval of American Flags (3’x5’ flags on a 10’ pole) for up for up to 6 holidays – Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, and President’s Day.  We do not prorate donations throughout the subscription period.

FAQ

Volunteer Scouts from Troop 1656 will install a 12-inch piece of PVC in your yard near the curb. The curb will be marked with a small white tag for ease of finding throughout the year. For each holiday in the subscription period, a flag will be placed in those sleeves. No, but you are more than welcome to place a light on the flag. Solar lights work well for this. You may also take the flag inside at night if you wish, but please make sure it is back in the sleeve the next morning before the flags are retrieved.

Safety is our first concern. If inclement weather is forecasted, the flags will not be placed. We will try to come up with a make-up date if possible. This has only occurred a couple of times due to hurricanes. We hope we never have to skip any holidays!
You will receive a renewal email during the month of February. If you wish to continue your flag subscription for the new year, you will just need to click on the link within the email and it will take you to an order screen. You will then be able to review your address and personal information. You will be asked to enter your credit card information each year for payment. For your protection, we do not store your credit card information.

As a non-profit, our goal is to maximize your donation so that our Scouts can receive as much as possible toward their camps. We are NOT profiting off of your processing fees but our Scouts benefit because every penny of the price of your flags is going directly to the program.
